Confirmation is typically celebrated in 9th Grade at St. Ignatius but is available to students in grades 9 through 11. Confirmation Preparation classes focus on learning about the Rite of Confirmation and personal readiness to celebrate the Sacrament. Students must have completed a year of classes in a Catholic school or a parish faith formation program in the year prior to preparing for Confirmation (8th grade). Confirmation Preparation classes are required for both Catholic School and public-school students.
2021 Confirmation Program: We are now accepting registrations for 9th through 11th graders. In light of Covid concerns, we have decided to push back the start of Confirmation program until November 2020 with a tentative celebration of the sacrament in May of 2021. We are offering you the option of either Sunday evening or Wednesday evening sessions (6:30 to 8 p.m.) in January and February to fit your family's schedules. Confirmation sessions will be either in-person or virtual depending on the level of Covid-19 restrictions. Hopefully, we will be gathering in person, but if necessary, we will conduct classes using ZOOM.
If you are experiencing financial difficulties at this time, you can still register now with an extended payment plan or request financial support. Contact the Faith Formation Office for more information. Sacraments are God's gift to the Church. Everyone is welcome to participate and receive the sacrament of Confirmation.
