Founded in 1792, our Parish is one of the oldest parishes in the Archdiocese of Baltimore, and our “Historic” “Little Church” is the oldest church in continuous use in the Archdiocese. In fact, our beloved “Little Church” is on the National Register of Historic Places. We realize, though, that a church is not the brick and mortar out of which it is built, but it is instead the people who identify with it and who are bonded together by a common faith and a united sense of mission.
Started in a rural farming community, our parish is now a thriving suburban community of more than 4100 families in northern Harford County in Maryland. All ages are represented in the parish with over 800 students in our Faith Formation Program. The diversity of our ministries and parishioners is a reflection of God’s gift of life.
The people of our parish pride themselves on being a welcoming community and on being “one big family.” However, our concern and support extends much further than Harford County. St. Ignatius parishioners are active in outreach throughout the community and beyond, as we strive to reflect the Gospel message that “God so loved the world”.
I welcome you to our website. I hope it allows you to gain insight into the St. Ignatius Parish Community.
